Saving energy is a particularly important topic in times of exploding energy prices, but also of climate change. Therefore, the Spanish foundation Desarollo Sostenible started the campaign “Save with Energy“ in schools. Two goals are followed up, on the one hand to educate students about energy saving and energy efficiency and on the other hand consumption and CO2 emissions reduction in schools. In this way, the students are made aware of environmental problems and solutions are shown. The basis for this is a virtual platform that provides teachers with teaching aids on environmental issues. According to statistics, the resulting savings on electricity were around 14% and around 12% on water. In the 2021/2022 school year, 40 schools and around 800 active teachers took part in this energy-saving campaign. In addition, energy savings of up to 30% were achieved in some energy centers.
