Energy Globe Award nominees eagerly waiting for: Who will be honored with the World Award?

The Energy Globe Award nominees are eagerly waiting! Only 6 days are left - then they will know whether their commitment to a livable environment will be honoured with the international Energy Globe Award. At the Energy Globe office the phone lines are running hot every day: some try to get a tip whether they are winners or not, others want to know more about the dress code, have problems with the visa or their flight was changed .... 15 nations are hit by the “travel bug” and have 1000 questions.

On 4 February 2014 they all will meet in the Salzburg studio of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF Salzburg), where the nominated projects will be presented and the winners will be honored by renowned personalities. Even celebrities from the Vatican are attending the ceremony and will distinguish the winners: Cardinal Peter Turkson, who is amongst others, responsible for sustainability - which is seen in close connection with peace and justice.

The Energy Globe Award is today the world's largest platform for sustainability with 161 participating countries and more than 1,000 annual project submissions. Energy Globe ambassadors in over 80 countries in addition carry the mission of the Energy Globe into the world - with the aim – to inform as many people as possible about sustainable environmental solutions and to motivate them to become active in this sense. The Energy Globe winning projects are models for it.

In 6 days outstanding projects in the five categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth will be presented and awarded. From these, the international Energy Globe Jury determines the winner of the Energy Globe World Award. Maneka Gandhi, jury chairwoman, expresses her great appreciation in a message to Energy Globe founder Wolfgang Neumann: "What this award does for over a decade, is a milestone for a sustainable future!"

The Energy Globe Award ceremony will be broadcast worldwide via international TV stations. Via Live Stream the global public can witness the great moment of the Energy Globe winners. "These are very touching moments, those people dedicated their whole life to the protection of our planet – they really deserve this recognition," says Energy Globe founder Wolfgang Neumann. The Energy Globe event is organized in cooperation  with the Regional Government of Salzburg, the City of Salzburg, ORF Salzburg and is supported by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
