ENERGY GLOBE World Award in Wels 2011

This Friday the energy city of Wels will be the venue of the ENERGY GLOBE World Awards Gala. Eco-pioneers from nearly 50 nations will travel here to be honored for their engagement in protecting our planet. An exciting gala night promises outstanding environmental solutions, top artists and the charming Arabella Kiesbauer as moderator.

To honor the winning projects, international VIPs from all continents will come to Wels: Prof. Edward Ayensu, an economic expert and former head of the World Bank Inspection Panels, from Ghana; Len Pagano of the Safe America Foundation, from USA; Leanne Liddle, a high-caliber, engaged at torney for the rights of aborigines, from Australia; Hong Nguyen, green investment banker and founder of Starise Investment Group; Austrian Minister of Economy Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner, who will present the World Award.

In an exciting vote, the audience will select the favorite of the five category winners, who will be announced during the gala. The ENERGY GLOBE World Award 2011 will be emanating from Wels in Upper Austria, the cradle of the ENERGY GLOBE.

Over 1000 projects from 105 nations been submitted to contest for the ENERGY GLOBE. Nominees for the World Awards encompass three projects each in the categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth.
