The use of renewable energy is the future. An important point is year-round availability. The UniWave200 project on King Island, between Tasmania and mainland Australia, is the first marine demonstration facility to generate electricity from the energy of ocean waves. The oscillating water column technology used does not contain any moving parts or oils, which means that there is no contamination of water. Since ocean waves are the most compact and densest form of renewable energy, there is also a corresponding profitability for the future and this with no harmful effects on the environment.
